Also- This guide only goes over the quest needed to unlock story and location. This does not going into the critical engagements, duels, lost actions, etc- however Akhmorning does.
Go to Marsak in Gangos at X: 6.4, Y: 5.7. The quest- Where Eagles Nest opens up. Here is the start of unlocking the Bozjan Southern Front.
After talking with Marsak, go to Sjeros (X: 5.5, Y: 5.4). This person is where you will go into any area related to Bozja. Once you talk with him the Bozjan Southern Front will now be accessible.
After unlock you will have the following Duty Overview to read
From here- it's time to enter the Southern Front.
Once in the Southern Front, go to Bajsaljen to continue the quest. He is at X: 14.6, Y: 29.6- or basically the starting location for the Bozja Southern Front. This will start a cutscene. Also get use to being call Blade (insert last name>.
Here you will met some of the Blades.
Once this cutscene is done, go to X: 15.7, Y: 29.2 (it's on the hill before you go into the battle area) and here Bajsaljen will be again. Here he will show you Castrum Lacus Litore from a distance. He will then direct you to Mikoto (X: 14.8, Y: 29.3).
Mikoto is standing by Misija. Talk with Mikoto to start the cutscene where they talk about crystals.
FYI- though not part of the quest- make sure to Attune to the different Aetherytes because it will make your life so much easier.
Another quest marker will appear- go to the Resistance Historian at X:15, Y:29.2
The historian will ask you to get field records of notable figures.FYI- these drop through fates and critical engagements. FYI- if you get all 50 fields records which is from here and the next area- you get a nice bike. At the time of this post- I have not gotten it. My friend has and stated it did take some of his life (LOL).
After this, go right across the way to Dmitar (X: 15.2, Y: 29.3) and start An Expected Engagement. Dmitar is going to tell you to defeat 2 4th Legion slashers and 2 4th Legion nimrods. Go into the field and around X:17.6, Y: 26.8 and that will have the mobs you need to kill.
Dmitar will talk about the Bozja Clusters. Using the cluster you can buy stuff at the quartermaster.
Afterward- speak to the Resistance Commander (X:15, Y: 30.3). Here is were you can upgrade your resistance rank- You will need to do this in order to progress through the story and to do your relic.
Offer Proof of Mettle to increase your rank. FYI- if you die in any area- you will lose mettle. So highly recommend that once you can increase your rank- you do!
Go back to Dmitar and pick up the quest- Lost No Longer. This quest is to get a forgotten fragment. These can obtained by killing the varies monsters in Bozja. When you have obtained the fragment, go back to Dmitar. The next quest will not be available until you reach Rank 5.
At Rank 5- go back to Dmitar and start the quest- On the Offensive. This quest will unlock the second area. Dmitar will tell you to met him at the entrance to the new area. Grab a mount and head for that lovely green finish quest marker.
Dmitar is excited that the Resistance is pushing the Garlean forces back. With this quest, the second area is unlocked.
At Rank 6- go to Mikoto and pick up the quest- Time to Focus.
Mikoto will apologize for the delay however the aether devices arrived.
Our delivery bunny is none other then Lilja- who we meant at the start of the Bozja/ Relic questline. Now you are asked to take two aether devices to two areas of conflict.
Mikoto gives you a pleading look to help. With your acceptance- Misija marks your map for where the devices need to be place. They are in the second area.
Go to where the quest marker is on the map and click on the sparkly destination area to survey and then go to the next area which is marked on your map with an orange circle.
After the cutscene, it's time to go back to Mikoto. She starts to talk but then looks for Misija. However Misija is being hassled by a few Resistance guards.
Marsak comes to her defense. With them gone, Marsak tells Misija that he will talk to them, however the damage is done.
Marsak explains to you the history of Bozja, between those of nobility and the commoner. Though Marsak wishes for a future without the divide between the haves and have-nots, but some wish for that same "glorious path." You find out Misija's family would be one of the thousands of have nots which was the cause of her hassle. Marsak then ask that you keep this little conversation between the two of you. After the cutscene ends- go to Mikoto to finish the quest.
At Rank 7, speak with Mikoto again. The third location for the devices have been found and is marked on your map.
When you get to the area- IF you see the Bozjan Dullahans.... DO NOT RUN BY THEM- THEY ARE TRIGGERED BY SOUND. My friends and I learn the VERY HARD WAY, how they will murder you if you run by them- even if their backs are turned. You have to walk behind them so they don't aggro you.
Click on the Observation Site, once you survive the Dullahans. View the cutscene and head back to base camp. Mikoto welcomes you back but lets you know that the device is not working. Lilja states that it would be faster just to get a new device at Doma.
You can pick a responds. Lilja states that she will go but Misija states she will go because Lilja still has stuff to do. With that Misija leaves and Lilja, Mikoto, and you talk.
The next cutscene starts in the ruins of Bozja. The "Save the Queen" sword is presented to the Garlean Commander. At the same, a Resistance fighter is "caught" and it's none other then Misija. She is handed the sword, in which she confirms that it is indeed the Queen's sword.
Misija further confirms that she tampered with the aether device so that she could leave the base unnoticed. The commander states that she did good work but that any mistakes will have consequences.
Misija salutes the commanders and the cutscene ends. After the cutscene, talk with Mikoto and she will let you know that it will be some time before another unit can arrive.
At Rank 8, speak with Dmitar at base camp for the quest- Pressing Forward. Proceed to the entrance of the 3rd zone to speak with Dmitar again.
Dmitar is excited that the front line advances. With the third zone unlocked- there are only 2 more quest in the Southern front to complete.
At Rank 9, speak with Mikoto. Mikoto is excited because they found the aetherial signature and found the source. However due to the extraction process- you will have company on this quest.
Head to the third zone and rescue Misija and Mikoto from some Garlean soldiers. Afterward help Mikoto, which will trigger a cutscene.
Mikoto apolozies that they were abused. Lilja checks in via linkpearl to make sure everyone is alright.
With the process started, Misija asks how long will it take, to which Mikoto states that she not fully sure but that they should have enough for their purposes.
With that, Misija shows her true colors to you. You are forced to back down due to Misija aiming her weapon at Mikoto. In a flash of light- both Mikoto and Misija vanish. With this you will need to report back to Bajsaljen at base camp.
You explain to the group what happened to Marsak disbelief. Mikoto rescue is top priority. Though there are few resources, Bajsalijen believes the best focus is to storm Castrum Lacus Litore.
At Castrum Lacus Litore....Lyon asks why they wait for reinforcements when they could wipe the Resistance off the map. Albeleo reminds Lyon that they are not there for petty skirmishes but to seize the resources of Dalmasca. Their argument continues with Menenius stating that the Empire is doomed to fall soon. With the Empires fall- the IVth Legion will have no where to return too. With that, the leader of the IVth Legion plans to make a new nation but needs these providences under control to do so. With the cutscene ending, speak with Bajsaljen to complete the quest.
Run over to Lilja to pick up the quest- Picking Up the Trail. Lilja states that there is a way to find out Mikoto location- by tracking the Crystal focus. Lilja states that if the two are in the same area- they could find her. Lilja marks spots on the map to help put two more devices down. She hopes that this will help find Mikoto.
The first spot is in the first zone and the second is in the third zone. Once your done, go back to base camp and talk with Lilja.
Lilja welcomes you back and you are provided with choice dialog.
Marsak cames up and states that the focus is at the castrum. Lilja apologies for wasting your time, however Marsak stats that because of the confirmation- they know it is in the castrum and not moved elsewhere.
The cutscene moves to Mikoto and Misija in the Castrum. Mikoto keeps asking Misija why she is doing this, to which Misija states she most likely already knows. Noah from the IVth Legion does not care about race or linage and for those who wish for freedom from prejudices- it's like a haven. Mikoto further confirms that some in the Resistance yearn for the days where people were judge on their lineage rather than the content of the person's character.
Misija states that no one can change and that their hatred must be removed by force. She furthers tells Mikoto about Queen Gunnhildr and what happened to her. Misija asks Mikoto what she knows- to which Mikoto states that Queen Gunnhildr used the blade against those that attack her kingdom but in doing so gave her own life to use the blade.
Misija begins the tale stating that the Queen and the blades knew of the for coming doom and devised a plan. The queen's body would be used to conduit the blade's power into summoning a god. She further states the the queen was a coward and did not want to be sacrifice. The blades realized that the conduit did not have to be the reigning queen or of noble blood- and a "lowborn" shrine maiden was chosen to be the queen. The shrine maiden was willing to give her live up.
However the shire maiden who was now queen- did not die, nor was she consumed by the eikon's power. The blades were afraid of the new queen- as she was now a god among them. They killed the maiden, to keep the secret of why she was chosen.
Misija states that this is her family history. Misija then asks Mikoto how she can view the future and when Mikoto states that she doesn't know how- Misija states that they will get it out of her one way or another. After the cutscene ends, talk with Lilja to complete the quest.
At Rank 10, talk with Bajsaljen to pick up the quest- The Lady of Blades. Bajsalijen lets you know that it's time to storm the castrum.
He asks if your ready and you have choice dialog to choose from.
With that, the Castrum Lacus Litore is accessible. This is a critical engagement in the Southern Front. This guide will not going into how to defend Castrum- however Akhmorning does have a wonderful read up.
After completing the Castrum- a long cutscene will play out. Short version- Misija has a standoff with the Blades and then starts a flashback, with Mikoto, you, and herself.
You flashback to Queen Gunnhildr- asking if her death was the only way. With her people safe though, she felt like it was worth it- until Misija speaks with her.
Queen Gunnhildr takes over the blades except yourself and you are forced to draw back.
Back at base camp- everyone wonders why Queen Gunnhildr would do that. It's Mikoto that states that it was Misija doing. After this quest is complete- all quest in the Southern Front are done.
The next quest is picked up in Gangos. Speak with Marsak to pick up the quest- A Sign of What's to Come. Marsak states that right now the Resistance is at a stalemate with the IVth Imperial Legion.
Marsak directs you to Bajsaljen. Bajsaljen gets to the point.
Since Queen Gunnhildr has joined the fray- the Resistance is always forced back. There is heavy losses and Misija has enslaved members under the will of the Queen. The Resistance allies state that the IVth Legion though has exhausted resources but Gabranth refused to return to the capital.
Dalmasca and Nagxia forces are trying to halt the IVth Legion advances. However Marsak and Bajsaljen state that they are concerned about their tempered allies.
Mikoto provides hopes stating that the Scions have developed a cure for the afflicted. However it's cut short with reports of another summoning. Mikoto runs off and you need to find her. Go into the Southern Front and speak with Marsak. Marsak says to go on without him.
Go to Mikoto and spy on Misija. She tempers some Resistance forces with the Queen.
Leon states that she up to something but he is not allowed to intervene. Another flashback stating that the crystal is spent. Afterward you need to leave the Southern front and inform Bajsaljen of what is happening.
The next quest is from Bajsaljen called Fit for a Queen. Bajsaljen states that they will need to take out Misija if needed.
However Mikoto believes that the crystal focus that Misija is using to summon the Queen is nearing exhaustion and that they might be able to take her and the blade without killing her. Mikoto explains the vision both you and her shared and thinks that it might be the key to stopping Misija. Speak with Mikoto to start an individual instance.
The Resistance has Misija surrounded, however she had laid a trap for you and the Resistance. You must beat several enemies before the next cutscene.
As you fight back, the door that Misija was trying to opens opens. With Resistance reinforcement- you follow Misija into Delubrum Reginae.
Delubrum Reginae is accessible by Sjeros (same gentlemen you talk to to go into Southern Front. Yet again, this guy will not go into how to do any of the fights. For that- yet again go to akhmorning.
At the end of Delubrum- a cutscene will play. Your final boss is Misija- only she has become the Vengeful Eikon- The Queen.
Upon defeat- Misija will lose the power and fall unconscious to the floor. With the fear of Imperial reinforcements- You, the Resistance fall back to base camp with an unconscious Misija. Though you won, there were heavy losses. However due to the Save the Queen blade in the hands of the Resistance- you can resume the offesive unimpeded. Mikoto asks about Misija- and Bajsaljen states she will be held until she can be put on trail for her crimes.
Mikoto is given the blade- as it cannot be destroyed. After she holds onto the blade- a vision of her falling out of a ship flashes. You and Mikoto return after the vision with Bajsaljen stating to go back to Gangos for some much needed rest. Just as he finishes, an Imperial Air Fleet appears into the sky.
You withdraw to Gangos. Speak with Marsak to complete the quest.
This is the end of Part 1 of the Bozja questline.
