Welcome to the 2nd part of the Resistance weapons storyline. I say the 2nd part, as you have to unlock this. If you haven't completed the prequal quest- please go to my titled:
Shadowbringers Relic Weapon (Resistance Weapon) and Start of Bozja. Now for the Resistance Weapon- this is part A of the actually relic step.
In Gangos you should see Gerolt (X: 6.3, Y: 5.1) to start the first quest.
You will have a choice to start on the job you are currently on- or to choose a different job. Just make sure you are on the job that you will like to get a Relic weapon on.
After making a choice the quest box will show up. Note: you can do multiple weapons at the same time- however you cannot do the same quest at the same time. So multiple relics can be worked on but have to be at different steps. If you can't remember what job is on what step- just go into your Journal and if will tell you in the info part.
Gerolt will tell you that a sand is needed and a choice comes up.
Yup you will need to find Rowena to get the sand needed. Now with that- You have officially started the Resistance Weapons- The Saga of the Gunnhildr's Blades questline!
Time to go to Kugane to find Rowena- as lucky for you, she hasn't left the area yet. In Kugane- go to X:11.2, Y: 9.8 and find the Destination sparkle point.
Here a cutscene plays out and you speak with Rowena. She will give you the first set for free- however if your doing more then 1 weapon, you will need to go to either Revenant's Toll or Idyllshire for it.
The Thavnairian Scalepower will cost 100 Poetic tomestone each and you will need 4 for all weapons you do except for your first one. Honestly- this is one of the easier steps in the questline!
Once you have your first one. Go to Gerolt and hand him the power.
With that you will have your first step completed!
To do any other weapons- go to Zlatan (X: 6.1, Y: 4.9) and you will be able to do any Resistance weapon quest (as long as you unlock it the first time) through him!
At this point, another quest will unlock. Go to the Stressed Soldier (X: 5.5, Y:5.4) to unlock A Sober Proposal.
Here the soldier is concerned because both Zlatan and Gerolt are having trouble figuring out a way to improve the Resistance Weapon. Poor Zlatan is trying to get Gerolt to talk but cannot seem to get the blacksmith to open up.
Go to Gerolt and you get to see a little disagreement between him and Zlatan.
A choice dialog comes up.
Yea my choice upset Gerolt but he admits that he doesn't know where to begin to make the weapons more potent.
Zlatan tries to also thing of a way and asks what you think. Yet again another choice dialog comes up.
Gerolt and Zlatan talk about crystal which gets Gerolt to think that the crystal might be just what is needed to give the weapons more potency.
This unlocks the repeatable quest- For Want of Memory. Talk with Zlatan with the Resistance weapon equipped to start this quest. Here you will need to get 3 types of memories- 20 each. Below are the memories needed and where to find them. FYI- you can go into the Southern front (in which I will just write: SF then the area either the first, second or third area) which drop randomly- OR doing fates in the Heavenward zones (in which I'll write the zone) which will drop every time you have a gold rating in fates.
Tortured Memory of the Dying found in SF1, Coerthas Western Highlands, Sea of Clouds
Sorrowful Memory of the Dying found in SF2, The Dravanian Forelands, The Churning Mist
Harrowing Memory of the Dying found in SF3, The Dravanian Hinterlands, Azys Lla
With your Resistance weapon in your inventory and 20 of each memory- go to Zlatan and hand him the memories.
Queue for the cutscene. Gerolt states that these memories should do nicely to upgrade your weapon.
With the memories, your Augmented weapon is complete!
Gerolt tells you that he was stumped at first but he figured it out. He pulled a few strings... which Zlatan asked then what he meant.Well Rowena comes and explains- that it was really she would helped him and she provided the material. Poor Zlatan learns that Gerolt added more debt to the poor Resistance. Rowena states that she'll make a deal that won't kill the Resistance gil bank.
The next Resistance Weapon quest becomes available. The repeatable quest- The Will to Resist. Zlatan explains that 6 Bitter Memories will be needed to upgrade your relic.
Bitter Memories can be obtain by varies enemies in Bojaz that drop randomly OR by doing any level 60 dungeon. You can also do Duty Roulette: Leveling once a day to also obtain the memory. All dungeons have to be done synced and cannot be undersized or you will not get the memory.
Once you have the 6 bitter memories, talk with Zlatan with your Augmented weapon in your inventory (not equipped). A drunk Gerolt will tell you that you better be ready and Zlatan trying to figure out how he hid al AGAIN!
Now your Recollection weapon is complete!
For the next part of the Resistance weapon questline to open- you must complete Delubrum Reginae and the quest related to that. Hint Hint- need to do the Bozja Questling- or my
part 1 guide till the end.
Go to Gerolt to start the quest- In the Queen's Image. (Apologies in advance- some of my data become corrupted and unusable- so there will not be as many images). Gerolt knows there is a way to improve the weapon even further. After looking at the Queen's Blade itself- he's inspired. If you bring him more memories- he will be able to go further with weapon.
Talk with Zlatan to start the repeatable quest- Change of Arms. To upgrade your weapon, you will need 15 loathsome memories of dying. These can be gathered 3 ways- both which have 100% drop rate. Way one- do one of the Crystal Tower raids- which will give you 1 memory per clear. Other way is to complete Castrum from Southern Front and you will get 5 memories per clear. Last way is through Critical Engagements in the Southern Front- 1 possible memory per engagement (aka not 100% drop rate).
Once completed, talk with Zlatan with your Recollection weapon in your inventory and give him the 15 Loathsome Memories of Dying.
After Gerolt has these- he's able to turn your weapon into a Law weapon.
Talk with Gerolt to start the quest The Resistance Remembers. Gerolt knows that the weapon can be improved.
Queue Regana and her modified Allagan node. With the node- you can upgrade your weapons (and it's stats) to the next level. You will need to gather 2 types of memories- 18 per memory. You can do certain raid series- which will be a 100% drop rate per run or Fates in the Stormblood areas- not a 100% drop rate.
Haunting Memory of Dying can be obtained from the Heavenward Alliance Raid series or Fates
in the Gyr Abania region
Vexatious Memory of Dying can be obtained from the Stormblood Alliance Raid series or Fates
in the Far East region.
Once you have all the memories- go to the node and had them over. However the node states that it's unstable and the group decides another type is needed to help with the process.
Go to Zlatan to start the repeatable quest- A New Path of Resistance. Zlatan will tell you Timeworn artifacts. These can be collected by 2 ways. Complete the raid- Delubrum Reginae- which is a 100% drop (you get 3 Timeworn artifacts per run) OR Palace of the Dead- which is not a 100% drop per 10 floors.
Once you have 15 Timeworn artifacts, go to the Allagan Node.
You will have choices to choose from.
Pick Adjust Resistance weapon attributes to give your weapon the stats you want.
Once done, you will have an Augmented Law Weapon.
Now you will need to finish the quest A New Playing Field before you can go to Gerolt. When that quest is done- Gerolt will have the quest marker over his head and you can start the quest- What Dreams Are Made of.
The group talk about what to do to improve the weapon. Gerolt believe that the Blades back in the day most likely used crystal to improve their weapons. He further stated that he would need an alloy that can deal with higher concentrations of aether. Regana states that the House of Splendors could certainly provide. This quest will unlock the next 3 quests.

The last repeatable quest can be pick from Zlatan. Zlatan tells you, you will need 15 raw emotions to finish your weapon.
Raw emotions can be gathered 4 ways. First way is by completing the Dalrida. Finish the Dalrida and receive 3 raw emotions per run. Second way is by completing the Delubrum Reginae. Finish DR and receive 2 raw emotions per run. Third way is by completing any level 70 dungeon (cannot be done un-synced). When completing the dungeon you get 1 raw emotion per run. Last way is by completing 10 floors of Heaven on High- however you only get a chance of getting 1 every 10 floors.
Once you have 15 raw emotions- go to Zlatan with your Augmented Law weapon in your inventory. The group get together in hopes of seeing the new weapon.
